This morph of D. auratus originates from Taboga Island off the coast of Panama.  The Taboga morph of auratus is one of the smallest morphs with most specimens measuring around an inch in size. D. auratus also makes an excellent starter frog. D. auratus has gotten a reputation for being shy in the vivarium; however, in our experience they can be bold frogs if given plenty of hiding locations.
